NSF: December 1, 2017 - The National Science Foundation (NSF) Advisory Committee for Environmental Research and Education will hold an open meeting on January 5, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (EST). The purpose of the meeting is to provide advice, recommendations, and oversight concerning support for environmental research and education. [82 FR 57002]

NIST: December 6, 2017 - The Advisory Committee on Earthquake Hazards Reduction (ACHER) will meet on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM (EST). The meeting is open to the public and the purpose is to discuss agency activities and updates related to the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP). [82 FR 57587]

BOEM: December 15, 2017 - The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is announcing the availability of the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf Lease Sale: Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement of 2018 (2018 GOM Final Supplemental EIS). The EIS provides an analysis of the potential significant impacts and reasonable alternatives to the proposed lease sale, and identifies BOEM’s preferred alternative. [82 FR 59644]

NOAA: December 18, 2017 - The Science Advisory Board (SAB) will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM (EST). The SAB is responsible for advising the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere on strategies for research, education and application of science to operations and information services. The meeting will include discussions on the SAB biennial work plan, and is open for public participation. [82 FR 60004]

EPA: December 28, 2017 - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to repeal the Clean Power Plan (CPP) under Section 111 of the Clean Air Act, and asking for public comments on a replacement rule by February 26, 2018. BLM: December 29, 2017 - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) published a final rule rescinding a 2015 rule entitled “Oil and Gas; Hydraulic Fracturing on Federal and Indian Lands,” because they agency believes it imposes administrative burdens and compliance costs that are not justified. [82 FR 61924]

BSEE: December 29, 2017 - The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) proposes to amend certain regulations for oil and natural gas production and safety standards. The proposed rule would update the 30 CFR part 250, subpart H, Oil and Gas Production Safety Systems regulations which address issues such as production safety systems, subsurface safety devices, and safety device testing. The deadline for public comment is on January 29, 2018. [82 FR 61703]
