Bedrock Wells: Fundamentals, Regulations, Protection, and Exploration

Registration is closed for this event

Webinar Description

The Bedrock Wells webinar series is a series of two 2-hour webinars that provide a straightforward, informational "building block" approach to a working understanding of bedrock wells. Essential information will be presented in each webinar, with the goal of providing a thorough, yet realistic, understanding of bedrock wells, and in particular, enhanced awareness of the important aspects of yield and economic considerations prior to planning and development. This webinar series is designed for water utility superintendents and managers who may be considering the development of bedrock wells for sources of supply. It also provides additional information and insights to those currently operating bedrock wells. Consulting engineers, public health professionals, and regulatory officials will also find this webinar series of interest.

This webinar will begin with a presentation on bedrock well fundamentals (differentiating bedrock wells from overburden wells; bedrock aquifer settings in New England: bedrock aquifer water quality variability, and environmental considerations). The next presentation in this webinar will focus on bedrock well regulations and wellhead protection. The third presentation in this webinar will focus on bedrock well exploration, covering the selection of a bedrock site, fracture trace analysis, and geophysical techniques.
